Our Environmental Mission

Our Promise To The Environment

With rising sea levels, suburban land development sprawl and densely populated urban waterfront cities, floating developments have the ability to make a beneficial impact on local communities, their affordability and the health of local waters for generations to come.

Our mission at District Floats is to pioneer and incorporate environmentally friendly building practices in order to protect and improve our waters. Understanding the Potomac River and its health is our  most vital priority.

Our promise to our environment is that every unit of housing we produce will generate a net positive effect on our rivers' health. We only produce and build floating structures that benefit or improve the overall health of the water, and never take away from it.

We employ only environmentally friendly building practices, in addition to promoting and constructing eco-friendly homes with various “green” features including; using recycled and low-impact building materials, LID stormwater management techniques, state of the art water filtration systems, rainwater collection and purification systems, solar paneling, micro-ventilation and geothermal heating and air conditioning systems, as well as waste/septic filtration and disposal systems.

Our most important goal surrounds the well-being of our local rivers and watersheds. We work with and support local conservation efforts in a collaborative effort to keep our waters healthy for future generations.
